When You Don’t Know What To Do

WHEN YOU DON’T KNOW WHAT TO DO…

Sometimes, if not often, life gets more than a little crazy, heavy, draining. Even when

things are going well, the routine and grind will start to take its toll. Hopefully we notice

this sooner rather than later. And when it does, it’s funny how it can seem to hit us out of

nowhere and make us think ‘what do I do now?’ Even if it’s something we’ve already

dealt with.

I’ve heard sayings like ‘remember what got you to the dance’ and ‘what got

you there will keep you there.’ I believe in this theory whole heartedly. Another one I’ve

heard that hits strong is ‘When you don’t know what to do, do what you know to do.’

Psalms 77:11-12 says, I will remember the deeds of the LORD; yes, I will remember Your

miracles of long ago. I will consider all Your works and meditate on all Your mighty

deeds.”

If a restaurant is trash, we have no problem remembering it. It seems too often we

remember the bad more than the good. We have to intentionally remember what God

has done for us so that it will not be taken from us, and we will know how to respond

when life happens. What I know is that God has been more faithful than I could ever

comprehend or deserve. I’ve seen and trusted in Him before and He has always

delivered. So when I’m going through another tough or stressful time and don’t know

what to do, I will do what I know to do. Trust in the Lord because He has never let me

down.
