Many times when  a trial, test or crisis comes along, we call on God to intervene. As well we should. The Lord tells us to call on Him in times of trouble. “He is a present help in time of need.” But when we call on Him, do we put guidelines on whether or not we will continue to call on Him?  Meaning, does He have to answer us and do exactly what we want or even need Him to do? Because if it doesn’t turn out the way we are hoping, we might just stop calling on Him.

That is where many Christians are in their faith.
If things don’t go as planned or as prayed for, it is an excuse to stop calling, stop worshipping and stop depending on God.

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were faced with the most daunting challenge there could be. Worship a Babylonian Kings’ statue or die. They told the king that God was willing and able to save from the fiery furnace but “even if He doesn’t” they were never going to worship any other god besides their own.

That’s when we know our faith has grown to another level. When we are able to call on God in faith, believe strongly for the outcome we pray for. But at the same time, also in faith, proclaim “even if He doesn’t, we will never turn away from Him or stop worshipping the One true God, our Father in heaven, and our Lord Jesus Christ.”
