“I know all that you’ve done. Now I have set before you a wide-open door that none can shut. For I know that you possess only a little power, yet you’ve kept my word and haven’t denied my name.” – Revelation 3:8 TPT
Walking through that wide open door was the first step.
Hi, I am Angela Logan. My husband Reese and I are the Pastors of Adoration Fellowship Church. 32 years ago, my husband surrendered his heart to the Lord and began serving at the only church he knew of. He became the youth pastor after many years of trying to run from it. That’s what he was doing when I met him in 2004. God brought us together and 6 weeks later we were married and have been serving in ministry ever since.
I will jump ahead now to August of 2022, Reese was the Associate Pastor at our church and had been for 15 years. On August 7th, he told me that he believed the Lord wanted him to step down from our church (which was also his full time job). We had no other means of income. I knew this was not a decision he had made lightly and without prayer. So I held his hand and we jumped together. We had no idea what our landing spot would be. No plan of our own, no idea what the future would hold. This life was all we had known together. Now, we were taking a leap of faith because God said “Go.”
On August 12th, we were at a Bible study/worship night and we received a prophetic word that we were going back to the beginning like the church in the book of Acts where every was sharing and giving and receiving. There were miracles and no one had any claim on anything because everyone shared. Said it would be an Acts church revival.
On August 14th, my husband broke the news to our Pastor that he was stepping down. After prayer and a heart to heart with one another, our Pastor had peace knowing that this was God’s will for us as well.
On August 21st, we shared the news with our congregation. There were many tears but also lots of love and encouragement.
On August 22nd, we were sitting out on our back porch with our kids discussing what we THINK God might be up to….were we supposed to go find a new church home? We had many friends who told us to let them know where we would be and they would come. But we had no idea if we were going to BE anywhere. Would we just have some gatherings in our home? Would our home be big enough? Does God want us to start a church? My husband mentioned a building that had always caught his eye and used to think of how it would make a good church. We were just talking…discussing, etc. I mentioned to my family that if God wanted us to start a church, he would bring the building to us.
The very next day….August 23rd, my friend calls me and says, “not sure if this is even something you’re wanting to do, but if you decide to have a church, you can use my building space and I have chairs too” (at no charge!).
Was this from God? We would need much more than a building. I thought about the sound system and projector we would need. My old boss came to mind and I wondered if they happened to have any for sale. Well….they had two sets and wanted to donate one to us!
By Saturday August 27th, we had a sound system, speakers, and a projector in our possession.
August 28th, a brand new pulpit was purchased for us and we made our first purchase for some microphones and chords with money that was offered to us.
September 1st, we received a brand new laptop for streaming our services.
September 2nd, our friend set us up a website at no charge and sent us all of the log in information.
Other things we needed…..drumset, projector screen, and camera (for livestream) were given to us by friends way before we EVER knew would need them. But God knew.
September 2nd, we made our second purchase for a mic stand and a music stand (again with money that was offered to us).
September 10th – Adoration Fellowship Church has their first service!
If God told us up front that we were to quit our church, build a church and told us all the things we would need to do so….would we have taken that leap?? He knew we probably wouldn’t….so instead…He just said , “Jump”. And we had to trust that He would catch us.
Since that leap, we have been thanking God daily for all of the blessings and confirmation that has come. We have been praying, reading the Word, worshiping together in our home, and preparing our hearts to lead others into what is our mission: Love God, Love People and Build The Kingdom.
I pray this testimony inspires you. God is not a respecter of persons. He will do this for us, He will do it for you too!
By the way….5 weeks from stopping one church and starting another may seem extremely fast and even unrealistic to you….but someday I will have to share our wedding story with you.
